Clearing the Fog of Frustration
Posted by BloggyMommy at 3:08 am in Freelancing, My Goals

It can be so difficult to truly feel successful working at home. It often takes a while to even see the fruits of your labor. No matter how many ebooks you buy or articles your write, it may still seem like your head is barely above water. In fact, you’re probably sinking fast.

Before you can truly make big money online I really believe that you have to tailor to your passions first. If you hate fishing, how in the world are you going to stand to write 100 Bum Marketing articles on fishing?? Make that first dollar online and then move on to something a little more lucrative.

I think many of us prefer to see instant results. It’s funny, I’ve just started doing freelance work ( Freelance Mommy ) and I’ve made so much more money and am far more focused than I am when I try to write articles for my own efforts. I love writing and I love researching. It seems that I need that deadline to get my butt in gear.

Now that I have some money in my Paypal account, the frustration is lifting and I feel like I can really conquer this internet marketing thing!

Try to do something you love, make that first dollar, then move on!

Focus is Still an Issue When Working at Home
Posted by BloggyMommy at 7:09 pm in My Goals

Now that my little man is getting older and older (well, 2.5 months old ;), I’m finding it more difficult to focus.  He’s still little enough that I should be able to get a lot of work done.  Problem is, I have too many projects to get done and he wants to be entertained a lot more often.

I am discovering a lot about my personality by working at home.  What I’ve learned is that I am always excited by the next greatest thing and tend to leave other projects behind (i.e. why I haven’t updated this blog as often as I’d like).

And from what I gather by reading other blogs and visiting forums is that other people have a lot of trouble focusing as well.  We’re bombarded on the internet.  Everyone is selling something (Even I am, or trying to), and everyone is trying to tell you that their way is best.  When I look back on the last month or so I can’t believe how many programs I’ve joined and how many projects I’ve gotten myself into.

The lesson to be learned here is that progress will not be made if there is no focus.  (See what happened to me this month in my other blog, Project Wahm

I did not meet my work at home goal, I did not even meet half of my work at home goal.  Reason?  It wasn’t because I’m not working hard.  I work very hard and for very long hours.  The reason I did not succeed is because I never finished a single project, I moved on to this one and than one.  I’ve learned to turn the blinders on.

What do I do if I receive an offer for the latest and greatest make-a-million-dollars ebook?  I’ve learned to delete that e-mail and continue building my business.  I think that’s a valuable lesson that you’d do well to follow too :)

Making Money with Articles: Becoming an Affiliate

By: Adrian Monterosso

If you write articles to promote and market for other companies it can make a good income right from your own home. Ordinary people like you are receiving part of the revenue off of sales that the company gets from customers who click through from your website via the company’s links that are placed on your pages.

All you need to do to promote a product or service, is create sales pitch and website to get your readers interested in the product, convince them that they cannot live without the product, and to keep them coming back to your website time and time again for more recommendations and your useful content, which will get them clicking on your links once again.

There are many affiliate companies that pay you for the first sale you make from each customer. Some companies actually pay you for customers that buy the seond third and forth products off there site.

If you need content, that’s not a problem. There are many ways to pick up free or paid content to place on your affiliate website. There are many reasons why paying for such articles would be to your advantage. First, you will be able to tell the writer exactly what you want, what product you are trying to sell, and what direction they can go in to keep your readers interested and informed. If you choose free content, you are limited to what is already out there. Secondly, you will own the copyright to this content, which means no-one is allowed to use your content legally. If you use free content, you will be sharing that content with many other affiliate websites, plus the original author who will have there link on the bottom of the article and they can take some of your traffic.

You will have noticed that we favour the option of using your own content or content that is under your copyright. Fresh, new content is the ingredient the internet craves for and searches for everyday. If you are choosing between someone else’s content and fresh new content, please pick the later. It will help you in your internet marketing career and help you make more money than the large percentage of the population using someone else’s recycled material.

There are many products that have great affiliate programs which pay high commission rates. You can choose to promote a product or service that is in high demand by writing articles that pre-sell the product in the article. The secret is in the article writing and wetting the appetite of the reader. If you get them really interested then they will most likely click through from your article to the product site and you will make the sale.

Author Resource:-> Creating articles has been a proven marketing strategy for many internet marketers and with the right help from successful people you can short cut your success. We recommend you give these guys a shot, they have many recommendations from different review sites and you will not lose out as there is a Success Guarantee find out more

To Succeed You Need a Strategy
Posted by BloggyMommy at 9:50 pm in Promoting

I have made the mistake lately of trying to do a million different things at once. I will work on one project, then discover something new and skip to an entirely different topic. This is not a good idea if you’re going to work from home. It’s not so much a problem of not working, I work very hard for a very long time. I am lucky that my baby is in the newborn stage and I can nurse him and entertain him while I’m multitasking/working on the laptop.

If you don’t have a plan while you’re working at home you will not succeed. I’ve learned that much already. Despite working long and hard hours, you will end up with 8 unfinished, non-money making projects vs. one or two awesome, money making projects. I think my problem at this point is that I am getting impatient and want to know what works. I’ve come up with a game plan that may help you as well.

  1. Choose one project a week
  2. Work on developing all aspects of that project, until you feel that it will make you money or is finished to your liking.
  3. Take 15 minutes to check on stats (webpage logs, adsense stats, commission reports, etc)
  4. Take 1 hour to promote projects on forums/social networking sites, etc.
  5. Take 30 minutes to respond to e-mails/make contacts with others
  6. Once you’ve finished one project, move on to the next one. Take a little bit of time each day just to maintain the other while you’re working on the new. That will keep the ball rolling on everything you’re doing.

Of course this works for Internet marketers, not if you have one specific business :) I am dipping and dabbling in so many things that I need this framework. Develop one that will work for you, just know that you need a strategy.
